Hello. My name is Morten Sissener. Welcome to my blog and my first post!
Unless you live under a rock, you probably sense that something extraordinary is happening and it isn’t good news. Our universal need and pursuit of energy has arguably created the biggest challenge we have ever faced – a global perfect storm. Three things are converging: economic decline – global environmental decline – and increasing risks to our national security. Energy is the center of gravity of this convergence.
And if energy got us into this mess, a different blend of energy is going to get us out of it. Folks, this is one of those “failure is not an option” challenges. As the video below by the Blue Man Group points out – there’s no exit from this planet. The good news is we have everything we need – right now! – to dig ourselves out of this. Everything perhaps except for clarity, perspective, cool heads, alignment around common purpose, and the political will to move beyond ideology and make it happen.
I look forward to adding my voice …..and yours! ….. to help shape this debate and be part of the solution. If you’ve not had the pleasure of seeing the Blue Man Group perform (www.blueman.com) I highly recommend it. Funny, entertaining, weird as it gets, and very…ah…..blue! Enjoy!

Early in the history of the group, the members would speak with audiences after the show while still in makeup, answering questions, signing autographs, and talking about the show. Eventually, however, it was decided that cast members would stay in character at all times while in makeup, meaning after shows they would still not speak to audience members, and the only “autograph” they would sign would be a smudge of blue paint. (When shown a “new” piece of technology, such as a cell phone or even an old pair of binoculars, they will simply stare at it in wonder.)
